MIKE POPOVICH
Mike Popovich has been the Senior Pastor of Olive Drive Church since March 1999. He takes great care in making ODC a warm and authentic church. He has a common sense teaching style that really reaches people and helps them through their personal struggles.
Before coming to Bakersfield, Mike spent 14 years on the staff at First Baptist Church of Visalia, California. While there, he completed his Doctor of Ministry focusing on helping families in crisis to avoid divorce and learn how to build a strong marriage and family. Mike and his wife Cindy have three children: Steven, David, and Rachel. [top]
BILL MAGSIG
Bill has a passion for building a community where the Gospel of Jesus is central and is transforming every aspect of our lives, our culture, and our cities. He has a Master of Theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary, and focuses on teaching and preaching the Bible, relational discipleship, and cultural engagement.
Bill met his wife Mindy in 1998, while they were both working as counselors at a summer camp. Mindy holds a BA in English from Texas Tech University and has worked as a Children’s Ministry Director. She has a heart for investing in and discipling women. Bill and Mindy are the proud parents of their son, Luke, who was born on Valentine’s Day, 2008. Luke has worked in the ODC nursery for 4 months and has a passion for chewing on things to the glory of God. [top]
JOSHUA KIRSTINE
Joshua Kirstine is the Lead Pastor of the Great Room Community; he is responsible for the vision, spiritual instruction, and inspiration/direction of the Great Room’s Missional disciples.
Joshua and his wife Jennifer where married in 1999 in Orange County CA, and moved to Bakersfield in 2002 after 3 years of growing a thriving Youth Ministry near Shaver Lake, CA. Since arriving in Bakersfield, Joshua and Jennifer have been blessed by God with three treasured kids, Noah, Parker , and Natalie. The First 5 years of Joshua’s pastoral ministry were spent laying a new foundation for ODC’s Youth Ministry and training up young intern, Mike Gleim, who has now replaced Josh as our current Youth Pastor.
After 8 years of dreaming about a thriving Young Adult ministry, Josh finally launched the Great Room Community in March of 2008. Joshua say’s, “the variety of people that are connecting here is so exciting because people are digging in together to go deeper in the fullness of the life giving Gospel God has given us.” His passion for the Great Room Community is that each person is LOVING OTHERS out of an overflow of hearts deeply connected to Jesus that are GROWING within COMMUNITY equaling a fuller ENJOYMENT of God. BILL TAYLOR
Bill brings a rich background to the Olive Drive Church pastoral staff where he first began serving in 1974. He “retired” in 1994, but has stayed connected and now rejoices in helping new people at ODC get connected.
After receiving his masters degree in physics, he and his wife Billie moved to California where he worked as an aerospace scientist in the Stanford community and occasionally taught at the junior college level. Bill and Billie have two sons, 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. [top]
DAVE ARNESEN
Dave is Pastor of Worship Arts for our Classic Community. He enjoys using all of the arts to enhance people’s sense of God’s presence and power that creates an atmosphere where the congregation can take a deeper relationship with God out into their daily lives. He is always excited to find those who want to join the worship arts team.
Dave received his Master of Arts degree from BIOLA University/Talbot Seminary. He and his wife Dale have two grown sons: David and Christian. Along with his ministry, Dave enjoys photography, painting, collections, backpacking, and shooting sports. [top]
NATHAN BALDWIN
Nathan came to Olive Drive Church in 2007 from High Dessert Church in Victorville, California. He places a high value on excellence and enjoys spending time doing the things he is best at.
He admits that it may be a short list, but one thing at the top is making music and leading worship.
He also enjoys developing leaders and
helping them find and pursue their passion and discover their giftedness.
Nathan finds joy in responding to the
invitation to be part of the vastness and greatness of God’s eternal story and
embraces his role as both spectator and contributor. His passion is the pursuit of making everything I am and have count for his name and his glory. [top]
MIKE GLEIM
Mike Gleim is the master mind behind “Jwalk,” our Jr. High Ministry and our Stellar High School Ministry, "Revolution." He has been at ODC for four years, and is passionate about seeing young lives change through the power of God. He loves ministering to students because of their honesty, their energy, and their openness to see Jesus move in their lives.
Mike has a bachelors in Contemporary Christian Ministry from Fresno Pacific University, and is currently working on his Masters Degree from Fuller Theological Seminary. Mike is excited to see where God will take him and the ODC Youth Department in the years to come.

KIM BALDWIN
DAVID POPOVICH
David Popovich is the Jr. High Intern at ODC. He has a passion for youth and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. David has a Bachelor’s degree from CSUB and is currently earning a Masters in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. David believes that living a Gospel center life is the heart of his ministry. He teaches his students to grow closer to Christ and in return, loving others because Christ first loved us. [top]
MARILYN STONE
Marilyn Stone has been a member of ODC since 1994 and is passionate about seeing hurting lives changed by grace. She is a single mother of 1 teenage boy, Brock, and considers raising him to be her highest priority. She has a BA in Communications from CSU Bakersfield with a minor in Theatre Arts.
Marilyn first came on board as a staff member in April of 2005, in the Worship Arts Department and then moved to the position of Director of Marketing and Communications in Dec 2006. In addition to enjoying her communications work, she is also passionate about the art of dance and drama. She has danced and choreographed professionally and directed several VBS productions. [top]
JUDY GARDEN
Judy Garden, has worked for ODC for 43 years! She worked for many years in the Worship Arts Department as the assistant to Dr. Phil Dodson. Currently, Judy is the Administrative Assistant to Senior Pastor, Mike Popovich. She is also responsible for the oversight of grounds & building maintenance.
Judy's true passion is working with children and blended families. She is active in several different outreach ministries and also volunteers in the Children's Department both on Sunday's and on Wednesday evenings. [top]

ASHLEY THOMASY
Ashley began working for ODC in 2006. She says she has had the pleasure of growing and experiencing acceptance from Gods' people in the church like she never had before. Ashley’s ups and downs in life have brought her to the understanding of Gods’ infinite grace and love. She has a great desire to show people just how deep Gods’ mercy can be so that they might be thoroughly moved the way she has been. [top]
